DCPP Fall Camping Weekend – Cheesequake State Park
October 20 @ 10:00 AM - October 21 @ 3:00 PM EDTFree
Summer may be over, but the outdoor fun continues with Project U.S.E.!
Join us for one of our Weekend Fall Camp-Outs for youth ages 11-17. Our Weekend programs are an introduction to backcountry camping and are held at different locations throughout New Jersey. It’s an incredible opportunity for young adults to make new friends, learn leadership skills and spend time outside enjoying the beautiful fall weather.
Activities include: group problem solving initiatives, hiking, camping, outdoor cooking and canoeing.
These overnights are open to any young person currently involved with the Division of Child Protection & Permanency (DCPP). Thanks to our contract with the Department of Children and Families, our programs are FREE OF CHARGE to the participants. Parent/Guardians/Caseworkers need only provide transportation to and from the program locations. Participants will need to be dropped off at 10:00 AM on Saturday and picked up at 3:00 PM on Sunday. We provide all food, equipment and activities for the weekend.
Please Note: NJ Spirit ID number required for all registrants.
Students need not have any prior experience to participate. Project U.S.E. provides all outdoor gear it is not necessary to purchase any equipment. Participants should be physically healthy, able to carry a backpack weighing 30-40 pounds and have an interest in nature and outdoor activities.
